Cpop＝Cold Process, Oven Process. Sticking it in the oven (set at lowest temp) right after molding forces it into the gel stage I think most use the oven to shorten aging compared to CP soap, I do it just to force a complete gel and allow it to cure 4 weeks (LOL, before the end of the 1st week, a end piece off the loaf has made its way into my shower) I also have been experimenting with CPOP. The lower you can get your temperature the better. I have been using a portable convection oven that does 120 degrees. My oven does 150 degrees. The lower temps are making the soaps so creamy. I understand you just fine. I do bake the soap after pouring into the mold. I bake as low as I can get the oven. Bake the soap for an hour. My oven at home does 150degrees and it works great. This small convection oven at the shop does 120 and I love that lower temperature even better. You can use the soap the next day like with HP. Better to let it cure a few weeks at least. I don't have the door open because I can get the temperature down low. If your temperature is higher on your oven at the lowest setting, then open the door. Perhaps you can show them how. CPOP isn't done a lot so I have been experimenting with the temperatures on the oven. The soap itself gets brighter colors. I think the soap is a lot creamier too but could be my recipe. You can use the soap right away, just like HP only we are cooking the soap in the oven. Depending on the recipe, you can see the gel on the top of the soap or not. What you want to look for is to see the gel down in the corners. Cant really do that without a see through mold. So cook the soap a bit longer. If your temp is above 150, about 20 minutes with the temp on and then turn off the oven and leave it with the light on overnight. Hold on, so uou saying uou make cold process soap, mold it n then put in oven. No change in the ing. For HP use the ssme steps as CP but ings goes in crock pot? whats an ing? I start my HP in the crock. Measure & put the oils in there to melt while I mix the lye. Oh, ingredients. Oh ok, so lye goes last. Same process as CP. Thank you. Is this the same for the oven? Lol, of course, ingredients! When my oils are al melted in the crock I turn it off to cool a bit & also cool down lye solution. Add lye solution to oils & stick blend until trace. Pictures are better. Here is a link with pictures to show the steps for HP http://gracefruit.blogspot.com/･･･/crock-pot-hot-process･･･ As I understand it oven process is just CP soap you put in a warm place after you mold it to insure that it gels all the way through. Sorry I have not made any cp. you are right, any soap "can" be used after it's completed the chemical reaction but it should be allowed the proper cure, I've taken the end pieces into my shower to test days after cutting CPOP, it's usable, but I would never let the bars･･･ So I made CPOP last night. I couldn't get the oven up to 170°so I left it at 130° (our oven is old and uninsulated and has trouble turning on when its below freezing, like it is now). And forgot about it. All night. Oops. When I took it out this morning, it still looked like gel. I'm hoping it's ok and I didn't ruin it by keeping it that hot for 14 hours.
